Jetzt steht fest: Der in 6 Nanometern gefertigte ARM-Chip besitzt acht Kryo-Kerne. Ein Kern erreicht bis zu 3 GHz, bei Auslastung aller Kerne sind maximal 2 GHz vorgesehen.<\/p>\n<p>Dazu kommen eine Adreno-A643-Grafikeinheit mit bis zu 900 MHz und eine separate Hexagon-NPU f\u00fcr KI-Aufgaben. Beim Arbeitsspeicher unterst\u00fctzt Qualcomm LPDDR4X, LPDDR5 und LPDDR5X mit maximal 16 GB. NVMe-SSDs \u00fcber PCIe 3.0 und UFS-Speicher sind ebenfalls vorgesehen.<\/p>\n<p>High-End-Rechner will Qualcomm damit ausdr\u00fccklich nicht bauen. Der Snapdragon C richtet sich an Notebooks ab etwa 300 US-Dollar und soll vor allem mit langer Akkulaufzeit und l\u00fcfterarmen beziehungsweise lautlosen Designs punkten. Acer, HP und Lenovo haben entsprechende Ger\u00e4te angek\u00fcndigt.<\/p>\n<h2>Intel entdeckt Speicher wieder<\/h2>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend Qualcomm sein Angebot nach unten erweitert, blickt Intel \u00fcberraschend in die eigene Vergangenheit. Konzernchef Lip-Bu Tan erkl\u00e4rte, dass sich Intel mit neuen Speicherarchitekturen besch\u00e4ftige. Tan bezeichnet die Forschung selbst als eines seiner pers\u00f6nlichen Lieblingsprojekte und verweist auf die Verpflichtung von Seok-Hee Lee, dem ehemaligen Chef des Speicherherstellers SK Hynix.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00fcr Intel w\u00e4re dies gewisserma\u00dfen eine R\u00fcckkehr zu den Wurzeln. Das 1968 gegr\u00fcndete Unternehmen war zun\u00e4chst vor allem ein Speicherhersteller, zog sich in den 1980er-Jahren jedoch aus dem DRAM-Gesch\u00e4ft zur\u00fcck. Sp\u00e4tere Versuche mit NAND-Speicher und Optane wurden ebenfalls beendet.<\/p>\n<p>Der Zeitpunkt f\u00fcr einen neuen Anlauf w\u00e4re zumindest interessant. Der enorme Speicherbedarf von KI-Rechenzentren sorgt derzeit f\u00fcr hohe Preise und knappe Kapazit\u00e4ten.
